Think you can make a film in 48 hours? Prove it! The 48 Hour Film Challenge invites Deaf and Hard of Hearing creators across Oceania to team up, unleash their creativity and craft a short film in just one weekend.

Are you ready to create a film in just 48 hours? The challenge kicks off on Friday 5th September at 4pm (AEST) and wraps up on Sunday 7th September at 4pm (AEST). Your mission is to write, shoot, edit, and submit a short film (3-5 mins) within this timeframe.
The top films will premiere on Federation Square’s Main Screen on Tuesday 23rd September, with a chance to win a cash prize! You don't need to be an experienced filmmaker to win!
Key things to know:
- All teams must have a minimum of 2 members, and maximum of 6 members (with at least one adult).
- Over 50% of the members must be Deaf/HoH.
- All films must be between 3-5 minutes duration (including credits).
- Films can be any genre or style.
- Films for consideration for the screening must be for general audiences.
- End title cards must include Acknowledgement of Country (for Australian entries).
- Filmmakers retain the rights to their work.
Open to teams from across Oceania. Only films submitted on time and meeting the requirements will be considered for prizes and screening.
